Flat Roof Installation
To the untrained eye, it may seem that having a fibreglass flat roof installed is a complicated and long, drawn-out process, however, our experts are on hand to allay your fears. With years of experience in fitting GRP flat roofs, our contractors know exactly how to install your flat roof to the highest of standards.
Given dry weather conditions, a glass fibre flat roof can be laid down, generally, within a day. Once your existing flat roof has been removed, Kingspan is inserted between the rafters for additional insulation. Before the fibreglass is layered on top of the boards, a vapour barrier is placed over the Kingspan which ensures the new flat roof is totally waterproof. The GRP mats are then fitted to form a totally smooth and waterproof surface.
Because a GRP flat roof doesn't have joins, it provides more protection from bad weather conditions. Another advantage of glass fibre roofing is that it won't expand in the summer months and neither does it shrink in winter, unlike flat roofs that use bitumen. So you can enjoy all year round protection from the elements.
Overall, the installation process takes less time than a felt roof and will cut the cost of your energy bills, which is why GRP flat roofs have become the more popular choice.
